Sprayed carbide coatings are used for the production of plugs and bearings capable of operating in conditions of dry friction. In conditions of unpredictable jumps in prices for tungsten, the use of steel plugs and bearings with thin carbide coatings is much more efficient than the use of parts sintered entirely from hard alloy. The test results of the sleeves show that the deposited carbide layer has a higher hardness and a lower coefficient of friction, and shows higher operating results than extruded parts.

From the Customer's feedback: "Tests have shown that the wear resistance of carbide-coated plug using Plakart technology is 1.5 TIMES HIGHER than those of serial plugs. Earlier, by car of friction it was shown that the coefficient of friction of coatings from VK with application of nanotechnologies is 20% lower, than at VK received on serial technology".

The use of plugs not from sintered materials, but from coated steel using the technology of high-speed flame spraying (HVOF) or plasma spraying saves money during their purchase (savings occur in the manufacture of new sleeves due to the use of cheaper base material as a base and subsequent restoration coatings after the working cycle), as well as during the repair of equipment at the bases in the process of disassembling the pumps due to the possibility of repairing bushings.
