Equipment: Calibrators/stabilizers are used as an element of the lower part of a boring column when drilling on oil and gas.
Customer's problem:
- Compared to the QUICK TIP (tungsten carbide insert in the powder coating sprayed) there is no catastrophic failure when the tungsten carbide inserts are pulled out by pieces.
- In comparison with reinforcing carbide tungsten inserts (BK8 bits) - the body of the blade of the calibrator between teeth is not strengthened and is subject to wear that leads to loss of a clove.
- After working off bits the calibrator is not maintainable.
